Who We Are

Malviya.org is an independent, volunteer-run website created and maintained by members of the Malviya community. It is a personal, non-commercial community project — we are not a government body, an official caste association, or affiliated with any university or institution mentioned on this site (such as Banaras Hindu University or MNIT Jaipur).

Why This Site Exists

The Malviya (Malaviya) name is carried by families across Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and beyond — Gaud Brahmin families, Jat families for whom Malviya is a gotra, and several other communities. Much of the knowledge about our origins in the Malwa region, our customs, gotras, kuldevis, and festivals lives only in the memories of elders. This website exists to write that knowledge down in one place, in both English and Hindi, so that younger generations and families living far from their ancestral villages can stay connected to their roots.

How Our Content Is Compiled

Articles on this site are compiled from publicly available historical and biographical sources, published books about the Malwa region and Madan Mohan Malaviya, and the collective knowledge of community members and their families. Customs and traditions vary from family to family and region to region — where practices differ, we try to describe the most common ones rather than declare a single 'correct' version.
