The site connects an introduction to the Malviya name and Malwa with practical ways to investigate a specific family. Readers can compare institutional names, find sources for public biographies, prepare an oral-history interview and download a research worksheet. English and Hindi versions make these guides accessible to readers and relatives who prefer different languages.
Regional background is kept separate from a claim about an individual family. A surname, a temple visit or a neighbourhood name alone does not establish ancestry. Examples in the guides are labelled when they are illustrative rather than records of actual people.

Sources, corrections and contributions
Factual passages link to the relevant source, preferably an institution’s record, official publication or an author’s own bibliography. General reference works are identified as overviews. A source’s presence does not make every claim in it certain; commemorative writing, religious tradition and recollection need their own context.
The site’s research exercises and note-taking examples are editorial guidance, not reports of fieldwork. We do not present unverified family stories as interviews we have conducted. Corrections should include the page, the disputed sentence and the proposed evidence. Material revisions are dated; wording changes do not imply new historical research.
Contributors should identify what they observed, what someone told them and what a document records. Publication requires permission to use submitted text and images. The contact page explains how to propose a contribution.
